Every mom is the glue that holds their family life together, making sure it runs the way it's supposed to. She nags, whines, bitches about things not getting done the way it's supposed to, but when somebody does FINALLY do something, we kick you out to go find something else to do, so we can go behind you and do it the correct way, or we just do it ourselves anyway just so it gets done correctly the first time. We lose our shit, yell, scream and cry, but at the end of the day, we wouldn’t change it. You are the glue, you’re school crap glue. Nobody is fancy gorilla glue. Being school crap glue, after a while it starts to break into pieces, put a little more glue on it, it's good as new for a while longer. If you don’t have enough time to put more glue on it, throw a Band-Aid on it and it will be fine for a while till you get the time to put more glue on it. Nobody is a perfect parent; we are all the same crap glue, some just hide it better. We all put glue on our hands, let it dry, and peeled it off at some point, that’s us as parents and nothing is wrong with that. You know what irritates me the most? When people look at me and say “Oh honey! You look worn to the core! Go take a nap!” or “You need a break, go take some self-care time.” Okay Betty Crocker, when the hell am I supposed to do that? I have way too much going on that the only time I can do that is when my kids are asleep and by then all I want to do is sleep. Are you going to take my kids? No? I didn’t think so. Move along Barbie.
